1st ever MH Baskeball 3 on 3 Tournament

Registration Deadline:  Sunday April 5

Dates:  Sunday April 12

Times:  9-5 (you may play in the 9-11, 11-1 1-3 or 3-5 slots)

Location: Wicklund Elementary outside courts

Ages:  10 and up 

Entry Fee:  $72 per team

Divisions:  Adult competitive, adult recreational, kids ages 15-18, kids ages 10-14 (divisions may be canceled if less than 4 teams sign up)

Jerseys:  Not provided but all players must wear same color jersey as their teammates.

Format:  4 team round robin (so each team will get 3 games unless we dont have 4 in the group).  That top two will go into the single elimination playoffs.

Award:  Winner of the division will get something.  :)

Referees:  Paid referees will call the fouls with a tournament director (me) overseeing the tournament.

Rules (may be modified up to the date of the tournament):  

Rosters

Each team may have a maximum of 5 players and a minimum of 3 players to start the game. 

 

A team that has only one eligible player (due to fouling out or injuries) left has to forfeit the game.

 

Equipment

Only league or league approved balls may be used. 

 

No dangerous equipment like metal or plastic braces will be allowed.

 

Scoring

First team to 21 points wins or 15:00 whichever comes first.

 

Free throws are 1 point.  Regular shots are 2 points. If there is a 3 point line, then shots behind that line are 3 points.

 

Possessions

Alternating possessions after made basketballs.


30 second clock (each possession).


8 seconds to shoot each free throw.


One 30 second time out per game.

 

All change of possessions (including steals) must be cleared out pass the top of the key.

 

Possessions alternate for jump ball situations.

 

Fouls

Referees will call all fouls.

 

Fouls 7-9 results in a one and one bonus.

 

Fouls 10+ results in a two shot bonus.

 

Flagrant and technical fouls results in the opposing team shooting 2 free throws and taking possession of the ball after the free throws.

 

Two flagrant/technical fouls on a player results in an automatic ejection although players and entire teams may be removed for any bad behavior per the code of conduct by the tournament director.


Players foul out at 5 fouls.

Code of Conduct for players and spectators (our 3 rules)
1  Listen to the tournament director and referees.
2  No bad behavior-you and/or your team may be removed from the tournament (no refund) for bad behavior (excessive complaining,
bullying, swearing, derogatory comments, any intentional contact with referees or tournament officials, etc.)

Accidental Waiver and Release of Liability (AWRL)

I acknowledge that basketball is an extreme test of a person’s physical and mental limits and that participation in a basketball event carries with it the potential for death, serious injury, disability and property loss/damage.  The risks include, but are not limited to, those caused by terrain, facilities, temperature, weather, condition of participants, equipment, vehicular traffic, actions of other people including, but not limited to, participants and spectators.  I certify that I am physically fit to participate in these events and have not been advised otherwise by a qualified medical person.  I consent to receive medical treatment which may be deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident and/or illness during these events and to allow photos to be taken and posted on the league websites and related websites.  With full understanding of the potential risks, I assume all of the risks of participating in any way in these events. 

I hereby take action for myself, my executors, heirs, next of kin, successors, and assigns as follows:

(A) I WAIVE, RELEASE AND DISCHARGE from any and all liability for my death, serious injury, disability and property loss/damage except that which is the result of gross negligence and/or wanton misconduct of persons or entities listed below: MOUNTAIN HOUSE FLAG FOOTBALL, INC., MOUNTAIN HOUSE COMMUNITY SERVICES DISTRICT, LAMMERSVILLE SCHOOL DISTRICT, their directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, agents and other participants and spectators;

(B) I AGREE NOT TO SUE any of entities or persons listed above for any of the claims or liabilities that I have waived, released or discharged herein; and

(C) I INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS the entities or persons mentioned above from any and all liabilities or claims made by myself, other individuals or entities as a result of any of my actions.

I acknowledge that this AWRL form will be used by the event organizers, in which I may participate, and that it will govern my actions and responsibilities at said events.  This AWRL shall be construed broadly to provide a release and waiver to the maximum extent permissible under applicable law.  This AWRL shall apply to each and every time I participate in these events.

If participant is less than 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must execute the foregoing AWRL for and on behalf of the minor named herein.

I, the parent or legal guardian of the participant, will execute the foregoing AWRL for and on behalf of the minor named herein.  I represent that I have legal capacity and authority to act for and on behalf of the minor named herein.  I have also read and understand the AWRL and have reviewed them with the minor named herein.  I hereby bind myself, the minor named herein and all other assigns to the terms of the AWRL.  I fully consent to his/her participation in these events.
