League Rules

Version 1.02

I  Game Play
-The game will begin with a jump ball at center court.  Alternate possession will be in effect thereafter.
-Each team will be given a 5 minute warm up period prior to their game.
-The game will consist of two twenty minute halves with a running clock except for the last two minutes of each
half when the clock will stop on every whistle.
-There will be a five minute intermission between halves.
-If the game ends in a tie, there will be an overtime period of three minutes (the clock will stop on every whistle in
the last two minutes of the overtime period). If the game is still tied after the overtime period, the game is
considered a tie.
-The clock will not be stopped at anytime if the score differential is greater than 20.
-Each team will be given two timeouts per half and one during the overtime period.
-A team may play with four players but would have to play four on five.
-Players will foul out when they receive their fifth foul.
-Teams will shoot one-and-one free throws after the opposing team’s seventh team foul in that half. Teams will
shoot two free throws after the opposing team’s 11th team foul in that half. Technical fouls are counted as both
personal fouls and team fouls.
-Technical fouls: The referees may assess a technical foul against a player, coach, parent or spectator (to be
assessed against a player’s team) for any conduct determined to be unsportsmanlike by the referee.
-If a technical foul is called, the opposing team gets two points automatically and possession of the ball after.
-Two technical fouls in one game will result in the player being ejected from the game.  Repeated ejections
may result in the player being removed from the league by the Director of Basketball.
-Electronic scoreboards are utilized wherever possible, but the score sheet is considered the official score. Any
discrepancies must be resolved before the officials leave the floor.

II  Regular Season and Playoffs
-There will be 8 weekly regular season games followed by 2 weeks of playoff games.
-The top 4 teams based on regular season wins (ties count as half of a win) will advance to the playoffs.  The
1st seed will play the 4th seed and the 2nd seed will play the 3rd seed.  The winner of the two games will
advance to the Championship Game and the loser of the two games will play in the 3rd place game.
-The tie break between two teams with the same record is their head to head record, points allowed in the
season, points scored in the season and coin flip.
-To be eligible for any play-off game, a player must have participated in a minimum of three regular season
games.

III  Equipment
-All players on the same team must wear matching reversible jerseys to participate in a game (with different
numbers on the front and back of the jersey).  No exceptions will be allowed.
-Game balls will be provided by the league.  Teams must provide their own practice balls.

IV Unsportsmanlike Conduct
-Only the head coaches are allowed to confer with the officials and scorekeepers to question rule
interpretations and scoring issues.
-No judgment calls cannot be contested or questioned.
-Dunking and/or hanging on the rim is not allowed. If it occurs during the game, the basket will not count and
the opposing team will get possession of the ball and the player will be ejected from the game.  If this occurs
before or after the game, the player may be suspended for one game.
-Intimidation of staff or officials will not be tolerated.  If this occurs, the player and/or team may be disqualified
from the league.
-THERE WILL BE NO PROFANITY AT ALL!
